COVID-19 - Funeral Update
Tuesday 24th March 2020 - 9am
If you were watching the briefings from Boris Johnston and Nicola Sturgeon last night you’ll be aware that the country is effectively in lockdown to try and contain the spread of Covid-19.
Gatherings of more than two people are essentially forbidden, with the exception of funerals, where those rules are relaxed slightly to allow for immediate family only to attend a service. Social isolation rules will still apply for immediate family members who are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19, but if any family are unwell, there is an option for them to take part in the service remotely via our two-way Zoom or Skype facilities.
We understand that if a loved one dies during this lockdown period you are unlikely to be able to give them the funeral you and they would have wanted, but these are truly exceptional circumstances.
Please be reassured that we will continue to look after you and your loved ones with the best care and attention possible within these restrictions. We may have to discuss funeral arrangements with you by telephone, Skype, Zoom or Facetime, but you will still have all the time you need to consider your options. You may decide to hold a Celebration of Life service once this is all over. This will allow family and friends to gather together to share stories and memories of your loved one, and to raise a glass in their honour.
If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to call us and we’ll do our best to answer your question.
And please, stay healthy and well.
All best wishes,
Vicki and Team
