At this difficult time, many charities are finding that funding cuts are hitting them particularly badly and we at JFS are keen to try and do our bit to help.
We are fans of the sterling work of the local charity SNAP (Special Needs Action Project) which supports children and young adults who have additional support needs. To assist this superb charity we pledged to make a £30 donation for every memorial ordered over a two month period.
Our hand-crafted memorials start from just £750, including individual design and engraving, erection in a mainland Highland, Skye or Moray cemetery, plus all VAT, fees and expenses. These memorials are a lasting way to honour your loved one and are very competitively priced, and now they are giving a little back to our local community as well.
SNAP runs after school and weekly youth clubs for children and young people who have a learning disability and other complex support needs. The charity also organises holiday leisure schemes and weekend breaks which are not only beneficial to the attendees, but allow invaluable time off for parents, carers and siblings. SNAP clubs are full of fun and opportunities to try new activities and build friendships, but they also encourage independence and education - all within a creative, supportive environment.
We were thrilled to welcome Dawn, the manager of SNAP, to our memorial garden recently where we presented her with a cheque for £500.
