The Fundraising Continues

We’d like to express a massive thank you to everyone who joined us for our ‘Brew Together’ Coffee Morning in Inverness. We are delighted to announce that we raised the amazing sum of £3133 for Bowel Cancer UK, through your donations and the raffle. Thank you all for your support, whether you donated, bought raffle tickets, donated raffle prizes, or helped us on the day in other ways too.

We chose to fundraise for Bowel Cancer UK because our own, much-loved funeral director Iain Jack, was diagnosed with Stage 3 bowel cancer earlier this year. Iain’s cancer was detected through routine NHS screening. After an operation and chemotherapy, we are delighted that he is making a steady recovery and is back to work with us part time.

Those who were able to attend the coffee morning will have seen Iain speak very movingly about his story, and Vicki paying tribute to him too. If you missed it, it can be watched again on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/100042657711483/videos/470019884675499 Scroll forward to about 3.30 when Vicki starts to introduce Iain.

We are incredibly proud of Iain for sharing his story. As he says, if even one person decided to do their ‘poop on a stick test’ as a result of him speaking out, it will have been worth it.

The fundraising continues!

But our coffee morning was only one element of our fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK, the efforts continue with several of the team and their families taking part in the Baxter’s Festival of Running on Sunday 2nd October.

Eight of the team are taking part in the River Ness 10K Corporate Challenge, and to up the rivalry, we’ve split them into ‘Team Dingwall’ and ‘Team Inverness’. Team Dingwall will be made up of Vicki, Jim, and Jim’s son and daughter-in-law Ruaridh and Kimberley, and Sarah, her husband Gordon, and James and Mike will be taking part as ‘Team Inverness’.

Several of the staff will also be tacking the 5K route for Bowel Cancer UK, including Darlene and Susan from the office, Jim’s wife Susan, and Vicki’s sons Marcus and Fraser.

If you’d like to support us in our efforts, our JustGiving link is still open: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/johnfraserandson1?fbclid=IwAR0kp3j8jdbQnzXu92IVBl7h5AnNsWAyOWptcxPAsO5pY5vVrx_UEN1F2QM

We are grateful for every donation, however small. Iain has also said how personally touched he has been by all your messages of support, and to be able to give back in this way means a lot to all of us.
